Over 70 years of healthy growth

In 1926 the brothers Carl and Wilhelm Berges founded the firm C & W BERGES in Marienheide (Germany).

The company initially concentrated on the manufacture of presses and stamping machines for metals and plastic processing. But as early as the 1940s the original range of products expanded to include infinitely variable mechanical drive technology. This laid the foundation stone for the company's present orientation.
In order to cope with the increasing demand throughout Europe for mechanical drive systems "made by BERGES", the first subsidiary was established in 1971 in Naturns (Italy).

Berges electronic Naturns (Italy)

At the beginning of the 1980s the plastic processing machines division was sold to one of the world's leading manufacturers. The road was clear for us to concentrate all our efforts even further on infinitely variable drive systems. As early as the middle of the 1970s electronically controlled drive systems have been manufactured in Naturns. This let to the founding in 1983 of an independent company, BERGES electronic with offices in Naturns (Italy) and Marienheide (Germany).
Since December 1997 BERGES electronic has become part of TB Woods Incorporated.
